Marge Dean: The Sweepers

Saturday. February 28. 2026

While my friends and I were enjoying the opening reception for Defying Gravity: A Wicked Exhibition at Gallery Nucleus, I also stopped by another exhibition on the second floor called The Sweepers by Marge Dean. I discovered the show almost by chance, but it immediately caught my attention because of its unique mood and visual style.

The exhibition had a quiet and slightly strange atmosphere in a really beautiful way. The artworks felt playful and surreal, but at the same time there was also something emotional and thoughtful about them. I loved how the pieces looked vivid and simplistic at the same time, almost like scenes from everyday life or personal memories. The colors, lines, and composition all worked together to create a calm but mysterious feeling throughout the space.

As I spent more time looking at the works, I kept noticing small details that made the exhibition feel even more interesting. The pieces had a sense of humor, but they also made me slow down and think. I really enjoyed how imaginative and personal the whole exhibition felt. Finding this show unexpectedly during the gallery visit made the night feel even more memorable and inspiring for me.

Had a great lunch at “Popping Yolk Cafe” in Pasadena, California
