Hide and Seek - Exhibition Installation
Friday. March 13. 2026

At the beginning of March 2026, I flew back to Seoul, South Korea for a very special reason. I had the wonderful opportunity to hold my solo exhibition at Gallery The Colour, and I was so excited to share my work with people in Korea. I carefully packed all of my "Hide and Seek" drawings and brought them with me, hoping that visitors would enjoy seeing the small details and stories in each piece. As the travel day got closer, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, but I could not wait to see everything come together.
The Colour Gallery & Cafe
On March 13, Jiwoo and I visited Gallery The Colour to install the exhibition. As soon as we arrived, I was impressed by the gallery space. It was clean, modern, and bright, with simple white walls that made it feel calm and welcoming. I immediately thought that my graphite drawings would look beautiful in the space. Seeing the empty gallery before the artwork was hung made me imagine how everything would look once the exhibition was complete.

“Installing the exhibition”
Before we started installing the artwork, we had a short lesson from Mr. Jang, Secretary General of the Korean Colored Pencil Association. He showed us how to measure the wall correctly and explained how to use the installation tools safely and accurately. Even though the process looked simple at first, I quickly realized that hanging artwork neatly takes patience and careful attention. I had never used some of the tools before, so it took me a little time to feel comfortable with them. Once we started, everything became much easier thanks to Jiwoo's help. We carefully measured each spot, checked the spacing between the frames, and made small adjustments until everything looked just right. Step by step, the empty walls slowly turned into a complete exhibition.

By the late afternoon, we had successfully finished the installation. Standing back and seeing all of my drawings displayed together for the first time was a very rewarding moment. It made all the preparation, travel, and hard work feel worthwhile, and I felt truly grateful for the chance to share my work in Korea once again.
