After our fun journey in Seattle, Little Kong and I drove down to Portland to begin another adventure together. On our first day in the city, we decided to visit the Portland Art Museum in downtown Portland. The weather was cool, fresh, and perfect for walking around the city, so the whole morning already felt peaceful and exciting. As we walked through downtown streets with coffee shops, trees, and old buildings around us, I could already feel Portland’s calm and artistic atmosphere.
My 2nd visit to PAM
Free admission on the 1st Thursday! Yay :D
I actually visited PAM back in 2023, so I was curious to see if anything had changed since then. The moment I arrived, I was honestly surprised by how different it looked. The museum seemed much bigger than I remembered, and both the outside and inside looked cleaner, brighter, and more modern. Everything felt more open and organized, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It almost felt like visiting a completely new museum.

“Listening to the Waves (Choto)” by Sakiyama Takayuki

As we started exploring the galleries, I noticed there were so many more artworks and collections than before. Every room had a different mood and style, so it never felt boring while walking through the museum. Some spaces felt quiet and calming, while others were colorful and full of energy. I also loved how the natural light came into certain areas and made the artwork feel even more beautiful in person.

Little Kong and I slowly explored each floor without rushing because there was just so much to see. We spent hours walking from gallery to gallery, stopping often to look closely at paintings, sculptures, and installations. It really felt like one of those places where you could spend an entire day and still discover something new in every corner.
Another highlight of my Portland journey - the Trail Blazers game at Moda Center :)
